About.

Alex Aller aka Alexandra Aller-Olson is a born and bred Queens, New Yorker and proud Puerto Rican American writer and artist. She wrote her first book (that one was really bad) at fifteen during the longest summer of her life, when she was grounded after getting caught so drunk that she licked her hand like a cat trying to convince her mother she was sober. Alas, she was not, sober that is.

She went on to pursue music and even found some success when she signed to Sony RED and APA. She went on tour opening for artists like Big Time Rush’s Logan Henderson and Greyson Chance, jumped around on stage, belted cathedral high notes in front of crowded rooms and did her best to keep a red wig from sliding down her head each night. Still an uneasy feeling lingered, knowing that something was missing. She walked away from it and decided to burn her wigs because fine, she can be a little dramatic sometimes.

The truth was that she still had a propensity and curiosity for the written word and felt compelled to pursue a new journey. She spent a decade of her life pouring her soul into worlds she never shared with others. Until one day, she realized that it was 2019, Patti Smith was a best selling author and the internet had already been around for a very long time. It hit her -  she could do whatever the hell she wanted. She would have to start from scratch, but that didn't scare her because secretly as she always suspected, she was a cat and had 8 more lives.

In 2020, inspired by her past-life in pop music, she self-released the multi-media project, Building You Up, a novel with a corresponding original musical soundtrack about teen grief and mental health. It was featured in V magazine, Juiced Zine, and the CW’s Nancy Drew. It is now available online and in select bookstores in NYC, LA and more.

At present, she has the privilege and honor to work for platforms and organizations that fuel her passion for writing. She works for Make Meaning Workshop, a grief & crisis writing workshop and one-on-one with Founders in the healing space to develop their brands and voices through social media, newsletters, and marketing strategy.

She contributes articles to various platforms and is working on her debut historical women’s fiction novel.
